Preschoolers' and adults' animism tendencies toward a humanoid robot

چکیده
This study examined whether three- and five-year-old children adults changed their perceptions of a robot after naturalistic interaction with it. We participants exhibited animism errors (i.e., attributing biological properties to target in addition psychological, perceptual, name properties) or agentic name, artifact while not before they interacted the robot. Results indicated that three-year-olds made errors: were more likely than older attribute robot, although this tendency decreased interaction. The five-year-olds did interaction, suggesting make errors. Additionally, attributed perceptual showed similar, yet modest tendency. Thus, tended exhibit animism. Through discussion differences between young children's participants' animism, we found it is necessary further topic create robots are better suited people's needs.

Analytical Dynamic Modelling of Heel-off and Toe-off Motions for a 2D Humanoid Robot
The main objective of this article is to optimize the walking pattern of a 2D humanoid robot with heel-off and toe-off motions in order to minimize the energy consumption and maximize the stability margin. To this end, at first, a gait planning method is introduced based on the ankle and hip joint position trajectories. Then, using these trajectories and the inverse kinematics, the position tra...
متن کاملActive Vision and Depth Estimation Toward a Peripersonal Space Encoding in a Humanoid Robot
Peripersonal space is defined as the space around a person’s body, which is the space that defines the region of interactions between an agents and its environment. Estimating the distances at which objects are, in other words delimiting reachable (peripersonal) and not reachable (extrapersonal) space, is very important in order to properly interact with the environment and learn from it. Inter...

متن کاملBoxing Humanoid Robot
In 2008, Nao robots played soccer for the first time in Robocup in Suzhou, China. This robots are developed to play soccer and for entertainment (e.g. dancing, interacting with children). This report presents that using different motion planning methods (e.g. inverse kinematics, RRTs, potential fields), allows this robot to do more complicated tasks like boxing. The main challenge is to deal wi...
